Do you know a developmentally challenged individual who has the desire to play ice hockey?

Durham Dragons Special Hockey is an ice hockey program designed for individuals of all ages who are developmentally challenged that would otherwise not be able to play Canada's #1 sport. Each weekend players experience the thrill and camaraderie that is part of a hockey team. It's not just hockey....It's so much more!!

OBJECTIVE

To provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in the game of ice hockey when ineligible or unable to participate in an existing program due to his or her disability.


GOALS
To enhance the player's gross motor skills, social skills, confidence and the ability to play the game.

ELIGIBILITY
Any gender, any age, and any skating ability is not a problem. Skating skills come with practice. Lots of practice!

SUPPORT
Volunteers are greatly appreciated for their support and time with coaching, timekeeping, game officiating and organizational duties.

FUNDING
Provided by player fees, fundraising and community support.  The Dragons Annual Golf Tournament in June is our main fundraiser.
